Welcome to Nutrikids!

I am a third year Food, Nutrition and Health student and this is my third year with Nutrikids!
In my first year, I became involved as a volunteer upon learning that Nutrikids provides elementary school students hands-on opportunities to explore food and nutrition concepts through fun and interactive workshops. I believe nutrition education goes a long way in helping children develop a positive relationship with food. One of my favourite memories as a volunteer was seeing the kids jumping with excitement to try new fruits! I’m super happy to be continuing to advocate and support nutrition education for children with Nutrikids and I am excited to see all of the amazing work our volunteers will do in the upcoming school year.

Hi Nutrikids community! My name is Sarah and I’m a second year in FNH.
I joined Nutrikids last year as a volunteer and loved seeing the kids’ excitement and engagement in our workshops. My favourite part was when kids remembered our names and greeted us with a warm welcome!
I enjoy baking, playing tennis, and going for walks. My favourite food is bibimbap!
I’m so excited to work with you all this year
Diana Dirksen
Marketing Coordinator
Hello! My name is Diana and I am currently a second year FNH student.
Last year, I found Nutrikids through Imagine Day and knew from then that I wanted to be a part of it, and it's been an incredible journey since! Nutrikids is a wonderful initiative that brings together my passion for nutrition and my love of working with children, making it a perfect fit to combine both my interests and goals. One of my favourite memories as a volunteer was conducting tasting activities with the children and witnessing their excitement for food. Showing children that living a healthy lifestyle can be both fun and rewarding is one of the best things about volunteering for Nutrikids.

Administrative Coordinator
I am in my first year in the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics program. I started volunteering for Nutrikids in 2019 because I love to work with kids. Their energy and enthusiasm is always so contagious and doing workshops was a form of motivation for me because it was a reminder of my end goal of working in pediatrics while I studied during the school year.
Some fun facts about myself is that I love to paint and cook!

Community Outreach Coordinator
Hey everyone! My name is Jela and I’m a 3rd year Food, Nutrition & Health student.
I’ve been a part of Nutrikids for three years now, and it has brought me immense joy. Building a happy and healthy relationship between children and food has always been a great passion of mine. It’s always heartwarming to see the bright smiles on the students' faces when they leave their class after a workshop; it reminds me of how fun learning and teaching about nutrition can be. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience, and I hope that volunteers can gain as much from it as I have!
